Vistra is looking for a Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Subject Matter Expert for a proposed contract located at USCENTCOM in Tampa, FL. 


As a CWMD Subject Matter Expert you will serve as the primary SME for CWMD and CBRN defense strategy, policy and doctrine; must be able to participate in the development of military and national defense CWMD strategy, policy, and doctrine. Responsible to develop and make CWMD-related recommendations to the Unified Command Plan, the National Strategy for CWMD, the National Military Strategy for CWMD, and contribute, as required, in providing input to the development of the Guidance for the Employment of the Force and Joint Strategic Capabilities plans CWMD portions.




Core duties and responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):

  • Primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for CWMD policy, strategy, doctrine and planning.
  • Develop, publish and make recommendations for publication all USCENTCOM CWMD-related DoD publications, instructions and directives.
  • Provide support to development of overall joint system concepts, designs, and technical approaches to meet broadly-stated requirements and objectives.
  • Provide top-level system analysis, perform trade studies, perform technical optimizations, and develop high-level designs; and prepare complex operations or technical documentation, conduct reviews and deliver presentations.
  • Support all phases of joint system review and development.
  • Lead CWMD Division efforts in support of the Theater Campaign Plan, specifically the CWMD Line of Effort (LOE) and related tasks.
  • Routinely access and update the Global Theater Security Cooperation Management Information System (G-TSCMIS).
  • Provide subject matter expertise within the discipline of Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction
  • Perform analysis tasks as directed


  • Position Requires a Master’s degree.
  • Has thorough knowledge of the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility (AOR) and applicable AOR CWMD campaign and contingency plans, providing senior-level analysis regarding evolving CWMD policy and strategy to establish relevant command CWMD operational plan goals and objectives.
  • Five (5) + years of practical experience in the area relating to CWMD.
  • Must have a current TS/SCI Security Clearance
