    Vistra Communications seeks an experienced Senior level candidate to direct and oversee our newly combined and integrated marketing and communications team.  Vistra provides a wide range of traditional and innovative communications solutions to commercial and government clients.  Our integrated marketing and communications team is comprised of marketing, communications, public relations, creative, digital, training and sales professionals. 


    Our ideal candidate has solid leadership and management experience, a successful Marketing and Communications background and experience managing a variety of public relations and communications activities, promotional projects end-to-end, paid advertising campaigns and digital marketing techniques. The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial drive, passion to succeed, and a “Get It Done” attitude. To be successful in this role, you should be highly professional, collaborative, innovative, client and results focused and possess the ability to meet or exceed measurable performance goals which contribute to our company’s long-term success.


    The Senior Vice-President, Marketing and Communications (SVPMC), reports directly to the President and CEO, and is a trusted member of the Executive Leadership Team. The SVPMC will drive the development and growth of the integrated marketing and communications team. The SVPMC will serve as a trusted advisor by providing advice, counsel, and thought leadership to current & potential clients and key stakeholders, while maintaining focus on building relationships to develop and win new business designed to drive growth. As a Senior Leader, you will design, implement and monitor effective marketing communication strategies that align with Vistra’s strategic, operational and financial goals.



    Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.      

    • Oversee and manage all aspects of client services performed by the marketing and communications team.
    • Lead, manage and monitor client relations and development of results-focused strategic communications and professional solutions that are of the highest quality and align with clients’ overall business goals
    • Provide advice and counsel to company leadership, offering ideas, insights and recommendations on firm policies, staffing, client service, new business and other topics that ultimately impact the overall quality of the firm
    • Develop and supervise team members; assign the appropriate team members to projects, guiding performance and completion of projects, providing effective feedback and identifying and promoting growth opportunities
    • Manage work-flow, utilization and product/service quality of the team providing services such as marketing and communications plans, communications materials/collateral including press releases, briefing documents, messaging, Q&A documents, media pitches, senior executive speeches/presentations, community engagement activities, crisis communication support, internal announcements and client communications, websites, etc. and Airport Services team providing maintenance, airport facility escort services and advertising sales
    • Serve as a point of escalation to resolve issues raised within the marketing and communications teams
    • Build and maintain relationships with client senior management, business heads, legal counsel, investor relations, and other functions
    • Own and continually evaluate the effectiveness of existing and proposed communications strategies and vehicles; establish defined goals, objectives and metrics for all communications activities and monitor progress toward fulfillment
    • Serve as a subject matter expert in risk and crisis management, including establishing crisis communications policies and procedures; offering real-time crisis management, counsel and support as required
    • Responsible for Identifying and developing potential client relationships, assist with maintaining established client relationships, develop proposals and deliver presentations to close new business prospects.  
    • Develop and promote excellence through well-defined and measurable goals
    • Manage, coach and serve as a mentor to team members
    • Act as a brand ambassador for Vistra Communications, regularly attending business events that raise the company’s visibility and increase new business prospects
    • Develop and manage internal and client budgets
    • Ability to travel, sometimes on short notice

    • Strong experience and leadership in managing comprehensive strategic communication, media relations, and marketing programs to advance an organization's mission and goals. Experience in media and crisis communications
    • Expert ability to craft meaningful communications aligned with business strategy and executive voice
    • Strong experience with/knowledge of social media tools and techniques for driving reputation and brand and advancing messaging in the industry.
    • Excellent strategic planning skills with an innovative approach to problem solving
    • Client Focused oriented with the ability to build relationships and interact with the client at various levels in an agency environment
    • Keen understanding of business-to-business client relationships with a proven ability to cultivate and close new business. Ability to build effective coalitions and lead and manage a high-performance team
    • Previous experience managing and building teams and managing multiple streams of work
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure while meeting multiple deadlines
    • A creative yet pragmatic problem solver; methodical and hands-on as well as detailed oriented
    • Strong written and oral presentation and communications skills
    • Be available to travel, sometimes on short notice


    • Master’s Degree (M.A., M.S. or MBA) communications, public relations, marketing, advertising or related field.
    • Prior Agency Experience – managing multiple clients is highly preferred
    • 15 + years of progressive leadership and management experience in marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, media relations or closely related fields.
